Colored Pencil Classes with artist, Cindi O’Mara

 

Color Pencil Techniques

These sections of classes are designed for individuals who have taken the color pencil class before to sharpen their skills, review techniques and develop new skills. Beginners will further develop their skills with new and challenging projects.

Class discussion will include composition design, textural techniques, under painting and creative applications of color pencil.

Cob Web Chaser – Broom Workshop  –  artist Karen Koch

Thursday, May 9, 2013 6:30 p.m. – Cost $35.00

Using a stick, your hands and feet, and broomcorn, you will construct a cobweb chaser with a pine
handle. The broom will feature Appalachian style plaiting and will be a joy to use for years to come.

 

Yowza Workshop #1: Art of the Hand-sewn, Pocket-Style Signature Booklet

Date: Sunday, May 19th

Time: 3:00 – 5:00 pm

Cost: $20.00

Join artist Susie Kelly Flatau, for this Signature Booklet workshop. There will be wine/water to sip and munchies to nibble as you are taken through the steps for creating a personal “Pocket-style Signature Booklet” that incorpaorates the 5-hole signature binding technique. You can use this little journal in so many ways: to tuck away creative ideas, keep little notes to yourself, safe-keep special notes for a loved one, store favorite recipes, and more.

Supplies Provided:

Decorative papers, glue sticks, piercing tools binding thread/binding ribbon, needles, bone folders, and rulers.

If you wish to add embellishments to the cover:

lightweight materials such as ribbon, photograph, raffia, lace, stamps, pendants, etc.

There will be wine/water to sip and munchies to nibble as you are taken through the steps for creating a personal journal that incorporates the Japanese bookbinding technique. This journal is perfect as a sketchbook for drawing ideas, recording thoughts, collecting images and more.

Acrylic Painting with Phillip Schulte

Starting Tuesday, June 4, 11, 18, 25, 2013
4 week course – 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. – cost $80.00

Phillip will demonstrate techniques, discuss colors, mixing of colors, the color wheel, layering of colors, brushes, composition, and answer any questions which students would like to discuss.  Students are encouraged to work on their individual projects during class with direction and support.
