Mono-Printing with Gelli-Plate – with Paulette Krakowski

Dates: Tuesday, August 21 & 28 , 2018

Time: 11a.m. – 2 p.m.

Cost: $45.

Monotype is a form of printmaking that has lines or images that can only be made once, unlike most printmaking, which allows for multiple originals.

It’s a simple process that allows for lots of experimentation and variation.  The artist can create layered prints, use objects as masks between plate and paper or selectively apply pressure to create a trace monotype.  After the first print is pulled, there will be some ink left on the plate for a second, fainter ghost print.

Supply List: gelli plate, acrylic gel gloss, brayer, baby wipes, brushes, paper (rice paper, Masa paper, Stonhenge pads 11×14 or 16×20 hot press – smooth, no tooth)

Acrylic paints: Golden Open Acrylics – white Titanium, Quinacdone Nickel Azo Gold Quinacidone Magenta & Pthalo Blue (green shade).
