About the Artists
Jennifer Mutton – Painting
When I paint there are no rules. Something makes my soul spark to ignite a fire on my canvas. It can be a song, a poem, a quote, and or something someone says to me. A fire twitches from my center and explodes to my fingers tips, translating to my canvas. My paintings are never planned. They are always in the moment. Each layer represents a different and separate moment of life, emotion, feeling, time. There are never any boundaries. I love to explore different techniques and variations of application of my medium.
My canvas may be a piece of furniture, paper, a wall, artist canvas, even a rock. Whatever I see and am inspired to render my passion of the moment.
The artists that inspire me most are the likes of Jackson Pollock, Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee. I have always been attracted to abstract art since I was a child. I love the feeling I get when I see a painting that leaves me breathless. I try to feel what the artist was experiencing during their “moment”. That’s how I want my paintings to portray to others.
